Wild Trails Constructing Another 12 Miles of the Cumberland Trail | The Nickajack Naturalist

The organization Wild Trails has announced the construction of another twelve miles of the Cumberland Trail in the upper North Chickamauga Creek area. According to Wild Trails Director Randy Whorton the new section of trail is not yet open to the public, as construction access is currently through private property. He expects the Hall Road trailhead will be built in February, afterward which the work will be moved there, with the trail open as an out and back hike. Whorton says “When finished, there will be such an amazing section of 20+ miles all along North Chickamauga Creek to the Pocket Wilderness trailhead at the base of the mountain.” He anticipates another year needed for completion…[READ MORE]
