Frigid 5k Trail Run and Polar Plunge

The Frigid 5k trail run and polar plunge benefits Maranatha Camp and Conference Center, in Scottsboro, Alabama. Nestled on the banks of the Tennessee River on beautiful Lake Guntersville, Camp Maranatha provides campers and guests alike the opportunity to unplug and enjoy the beauty of creation.

The course is a loop entirely on camp property and is comprised of trail, grass, and gravel. The course begins at the center of camp and immediately turns in to the woods to start the climb to the ridge. There is a significantly steep portion just before peaking. The course gradually slopes downward from there. Runners make the loop twice before finishing at the center of camp next to the river.

An optional polar plunge will follow the race, giving participants the opportunity to jump into the Tennessee River in the middle of winter!
