The Salomon trail series annual StumpJump 50k is just a little over a month-and-a-half away. Have you been preparing? Matt Sims, founder of the race and long-time trail runner, sits down and give some tips about what to expect on race day. He also gives some invaluable advice about how to train, what type of running shoes to have, how to take in calories and hydration.
Curious about how an the actual run may go? Check out this report from the race by Zachary who ran the race in 2011. He calls the race, “beautiful, but challenging.” Trail running in Chattanooga is one of the most beautiful experiences you will have in the wood—if you remember to look up once in a while.
We’ll see you at the starting line on October 4.
