SUP the State 2016 | Day Five | Watts Bar Dam

7:23am – First significant bout with a head wind. Once the Sun came up, wind died down.

10:53am – Nuclear power plants have some attractive parts.

1:15pm – About to take my first lock ride (Watts Bar Dam).

5:35pm – Taking yet another break from the wind.

8:32pm – Super comfy Bat hammock. Single suspension so one rope, one branch. The spreader bars are the key. This is as close to zero impact camping as you can get.

****NOTE**** Join Randy on Saturday, October 1st, 2016 from 9:00am-1:00pm for the Tennessee River Rescue and help do your part to clean up the rivers and streams around the Chattanooga area. Find out how to get involved HERE. Then join Randy for all or part of the last leg of his SUP the State trip on Sunday, October 2nd. He\’s planning to leave from the Chickamauga Dam ramp at 5:30am and paddle to Nickajack Cove (approximately 41 miles). He would love to see you!
