This year\’s Salomon Trail Series StumpJump 50k & 11 mile race on Saturday, October 4, promises to be as exciting as any of the past 12 years\’ event. In addition to the beautiful scenery offering views of the Tennessee River Gorge, Signal Mountain and Walden Ridge and a challenging run of climbs (over 4,400 feet of elevation gain) and technical trails and pedestrian suspension bridges; in addition to the 600 expected runners; this year\’s run is also the Road Runner\’s Club of America\’s National Ultra Championships. This year, the StumpJump is part of RiverRocks, a month-long event that \”brings world-class and amateur athletes to the Scenic City to compete, celebrate Chattanooga\’s outdoor lifestyle, and enjoy live music.\”
